Faculty Senate
The Faculty Senate serves and functions as the representative, deliberative, and legislative body of the Baylor University Faculties.
Note From the Faculty Senate Chair
Welcome! Whether you’re new to Baylor or have been part of our community for many years, I hope you’ll see the Faculty Senate as a resource and a place where faculty voices matter.
The Faculty Senate represents faculty from every college and school across the university. Throughout the academic year, we meet monthly to hear from university leaders, discuss issues affecting faculty life, provide feedback on policies, and bring forward questions and concerns raised by our colleagues. Our goal is to foster conversation and help ensure that faculty perspectives are part of the university’s decision-making process.
Faculty senators are elected each spring to serve three-year terms. I encourage you to get to know the senator(s) who represent your college or school and to reach out whenever you have ideas, questions, or concerns. We truly want to hear from you.
This year, I’ll also be hosting informal Faculty Senate Chair Office Hour Lunches throughout the semester. These lunches are open to any senator or faculty member who would like to talk through a concern, ask a question, share an idea, or simply learn more about the work of the Senate. Reach out to me at emily_m_hunter@baylor.edu to schedule a lunch. I look forward to working with you this year.
